“Nina Simone was…and still is able to weave a story like a folk singer. Elicit the core feeling of the song like a blues singer and articulate the brilliant timing of a superior jazz musician.
I have watched her perform in three countries other than Canada and the United States and she communicated emotionally and scored several standing ovations. Nina is sorely missed.” ~Bill Cosby
Favorite Song: Mr. Cosby does not have one favorite Nina Simone song. He says he likes all of them.

There never has been a time in my life when Nina Simone was not a part of it. I was a deliberate jazz fan from the age of three. So much so when she would leave the house and me alone with it I would tune the old five foot high radio in the living room, standing on a chair, to stations that played jazz. She listened to gospel and classical music, I listened to blues and jazz. Nina was my mother is music. When I became really sophisticated as a music lover and musician myself, I was always in deep awe and reverence of and for Nina Simone. Nina is my favorite name for a woman to this day. If her name is Nina she gets to first base. This is the most wonderful thing a daughter could do for her mother. Kudos and thanks to you for this awesome and inspiring tribute to a Goddess.
My first visit. Will not be my last. Does the “Site” sell
any CD’s/DVD’s/Film? Thanks, Jim.
How sad and wonderful that only recently have I stumbled upon Nina’s music thanks to the internet. She had a marvelous and unique gift, and she is living on through her work, and bringing people together. I am still discovering her, and it is making me more alive.
