Your mother was and is one of my great inspirations. All those years I sang the blues in Cleveland, many is the night I would listen to one of my Nina Simone CDs in the car on the way to the gig. My prayer before the show was always the same... "Lord, let me sing the truth, and if it please you, may that truth move people and touch their hearts." To the degree that I was ever able to do that, your mother showed me the way. Thank you for generosity, sharing your incredibly gifted voice, your memories, and your mother's music with us last night. And thank you for your kind words after the show.
